Cinema and music, voice and piano, inseparable travel companions
Cinema is a young art; just over a century ago, in 1895, the Lumière brothers held the first commercial cinema screening open to the public at the Grand Café on the Boulevard des Capucines (Paris).
From that very day on, the Seventh Art has offered us a huge number of couples; the most famous of them, formed by two actors or actresses: Stand Laurel and Oliver Hardy, Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy, Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin, Doris Day and Rock Hudson, etc. On the other hand, other less famous couples were formed between directors and actors: John Ford and John Wayne, Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, or had to do with a different kind of relationship: Steven Spielberg (director) and John Williams (composer), Pedro Almodóvar (director) and Alberto Iglesias (composer), Howard Ashman (lyricist) and Alan Menken (composer)...
Following their steps, we are pleased to introduce you a duo formed by Loida Baró (singer) and Eugènia Arús (pianist), united by their love of cinema, music and, needless to say, Disney.
who are we
Loida Baró Cuscó
Singer. Graduated in Jazz Singing Interpretation from the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC).
From a very young age, singing has been her favorite means of expression, something that has led her to delve into the world of vocal interpretation, training with Carme Canela, Ana Finger, Nina, Àngel Llàcer or Ignasi Terraza, among others.
Parallel to her career as a soloist, she creates vocal arrangements for several formations, such as Beat Voices and the female trio D·lirio. She is also in the process of creating what will be the first Olam EP, which will be released in 2023.
eugènia arús leita
Pianist. Higher degree from the Joaquín Rodrigo Conservatory and degree in Rhythm and Improvisation from the IDJ, Haute École de Musique, Geneva. Piano improvisation, both in classical and modern style, has always been her passion; something which has led her to delve into the world of piano performance and improvisation, training with Antoni Besses, Manel Camp, Rainer Boesch, Pascal Chenu or Laurent Saurisse, among others.
Besides her career as a pianist, she has taken an eclectic professional journey that spans from pedagogy to audiovisual music production.
